Atlassian runs a structured, values-heavy process that typically spans 4-6 weeks from recruiter screen to offer. The loop varies by role but usually looks like: recruiter call, a take-home or async video screen, a technical interview (or role-play/case for non-eng), then a final values interview with two or more Atlassians.
The values piece is not a formality. Atlassian uses their five core values (Open company, no BS / Build with heart and balance / Don't #@!% the customer / Play, as a team / Be the change you seek) as actual evaluation criteria. Interviewers are trained on them and will probe for real examples. Come with concrete stories that map to at least two or three of those values.
For engineering roles, expect system design and one or two coding rounds. Atlassian skews toward practical problem-solving over whiteboard puzzles. For PM and design, the process leans on product sense, cross-functional collaboration stories, and a case or take-home portfolio review.
Atlassian has been fully distributed since 2020 (TEAM Anywhere policy), so expect distributed-work questions woven into behavioral rounds regardless of your function.
