Collecting recent Atlassian loop data (senior SWE, remote)

market_realist · 3 replies

interviewing at atlassian in about 3 weeks for a senior SWE role (remote, US). would love to collect some recent data points from people who've been through the loop in the last 6 months.

specifically: how long was the full process start to finish? did you have a take-home or async component? system design: how abstract vs. domain-specific? any surprises in the values round?

i know they've changed the format a few times and i can't tell what's current. drop whatever you can share, even partial info helps.

went through it q4 2025, senior backend, remote. start to offer was 5.5 weeks. take-home was a coding problem on their own platform (jira-adjacent context, not hard but annoying if you've never used it). system design was fairly open-ended, i picked the scope. values round had one interviewer, not two, which i didn't expect.

mine was 4 weeks flat. no take-home, went straight to two technical rounds after the screen. system design was a multi-tenant notification service, mid complexity. i'd say L4/L5 equivalent. values round had two people and ran 70 minutes instead of the listed 60.

mine had the async video thing bekah mentioned above. i did it from a coffee shop and hated the format but the rest of the loop was fine. total time was 6 weeks because of scheduling, not the process itself. recruiter was communicative throughout which is more than i can say for 90% of companies.
