Atlassian senior SWE offer data: remote, US, L5 equivalent (2025)

dropping this for the thread. offer from early 2026, senior SWE (what they call P4/senior individual contributor), fully remote, US-based team. base: $195k equity: $220k in RSUs over 4 years, standard cliff bonus: 10% target, paid twice a year total at grant: roughly $250k TC at target

note atlassian does 2x bonus payments per year which is nice if you leave mid-year. no sign-on offered, i didn't push hard on it.

compared to what i saw from similar loops last year this feels like it tracked the market but didn't blow it out. distributed-first helps since they're not applying a location-based discount the way some companies do with remote roles.

did negotiate base up by $8k from the first offer. equity was not moveable.

that tracks with what i saw for a similar level. the equity cliff is standard 1-year. one thing worth asking: atlassian does a 6-month refresh eligibility review, not annual. so if the stock moves well you can get a refresh offer earlier than most companies.

curious if they were flexible on the RSU vesting schedule at all. i've seen some companies allow back-weighted vesting if you ask. probably not but worth noting.

didn't ask. by the time i got to that detail i'd already spent a week on the base negotiation and had no energy left. probably left something on the table there.

honest question: how are their benefits? i've been prioritizing mental health coverage and PTO policies more than i used to. atlassian has a reputation for being pretty good on that front but wanted a real check.

their PTO is genuinely unlimited and from what i can tell teams actually use it. mental health coverage through the main health plan was decent, plus they have an EAP. the TEAM anywhere policy means no one is side-eyeing you for a vacation. not going to oversell it but it felt real, not just marketing.
