I did my coding screen 8 days ago and haven't heard anything. recruiter said 'we'll be in touch within a week' but it's been longer than that now. I don't want to send a follow-up and seem annoying but I also have another offer deadline coming up.
has anyone had a similar gap in the process? did it eventually come through or was it a ghost? I think I did okay on the screen but I honestly can't tell.
follow up. seriously. 8 days past their stated timeline is not annoying, it's appropriate. one email, short, something like 'hi, following up on my screen from [date], happy to share any additional info.' that's it. you won't be penalized.
I was in the same spot with them. 10 days of silence then suddenly an invite for onsite. recruiter apologized, said scheduling got delayed. I'd follow up especially if you have another deadline to manage.
okay thank you. sent a short email. they responded same day and moved me to the next round. I was spiraling for nothing.
