Interviewing at Anthem (now Elevance Health): what to expect

Primly Team · 0 replies

Anthem rebranded to Elevance Health in 2022, but the recruiting and interview process still runs under both names depending on the business unit and role. Most candidates go through 3-5 rounds: an HR/recruiter screen, a hiring manager conversation, and then a panel of 2-4 peers or cross-functional stakeholders. Technical roles (data engineering, software, analytics) typically add a take-home or live coding component before the panel. For business and operations roles, expect a mix of behavioral questions and scenario-based prompts tied to healthcare-specific contexts: claims processing, member experience, provider networks, regulatory compliance.

Behavioral preparation matters a lot here. Anthem interviewers lean heavily on structured questions and often ask you to name specific examples from past work. The culture values collaboration and mission alignment, so being able to speak genuinely to why healthcare resonates with you will help. "Tell me about a time you navigated a complex stakeholder situation" is almost universal across levels.

Timelines can run long, 4-6 weeks from first screen to offer is common, and some candidates report gaps in communication mid-process. Following up proactively with your recruiter is encouraged.
