gathering recent interview loops at Anthem/Elevance, interviewing there soon

mobile_mara · 3 replies

have a first round scheduled in 2 weeks for a UX design role on their digital products team. trying to get a read on what recent loops actually looked like.

specifically curious: how heavy is the portfolio review? do they ask you to do a whiteboard/design exercise? how many rounds did yours take? and how was the communication throughout?

drops from any function are useful honestly, not just design. want to calibrate expectations. appreciate anyone who has time to share.

not design but i did a mobile eng loop there last year. 4 rounds, recruiter was ok for the first two then went quiet until an offer showed up. i'd say overcommunicate back to them because they won't always do it to you.

did a UX research loop at elevance health about 8 months ago. they asked me to walk through 2 portfolio pieces in depth, then did a separate research challenge (a mock study plan for a given scenario). the portfolio conversation was mostly about my process and how i handled stakeholder pushback. very behavioral overall. no whiteboard in my loop but design might be different.

also worth knowing: the teams inside Anthem are pretty different from each other depending on which business unit you're in. digital products vs. enterprise IT vs. clinical operations are almost different companies in terms of culture and pace. worth asking your recruiter which team specifically.
