doing an amazon loop for a senior SWE role (AWS side) in about 3 weeks. heard they retooled some of the LP interview format in late 2025 so trying to get a feel for what people are actually seeing right now.
specifically curious about: how many rounds, whether the system design round is 60 or 45 min, and what LPs seem to be coming up most. drop anything recent below, role and rough timing if you're willing to share.

AWS platform role, April 2026. five rounds. system design was 60 min. LPs that came up across my rounds: Ownership, Customer Obsession, Bias for Action, Disagree and Commit, and one on 'Think Big' which caught me off guard. code was two mediums, both graph/tree. recruiter said the format wasn't going to change 'in the near future' which is the most Amazon answer possible.

ML SDE II loop in March. similar format. the LP on 'Invent and Simplify' came up twice in different rounds which was weird, maybe different interviewers got the same LP assignment. system design mine was 45 min but i think that's team-specific. data points: n=1, hedge accordingly.

i went through a loop on a payments-adjacent team in Q1. the coding bar felt lower than i expected but the bar raiser round was the real calibration. they asked me about a time i pushed back on a technical decision from someone senior. my answer was pretty specific but they kept digging on the outcome months later. have your 'what happened after' story ready.
