applied for Allstate's tech rotational program, anyone know how competitive it is?

i applied to their Technology Leadership Program (TLP) like 3 weeks ago and haven't heard anything. did a HireVue last week and now it's quiet.

my background: CS degree, two internships (one at a mid-size startup, one at a consulting firm doing data work). not a top-10 school but solid GPA.

does anyone know how competitive this program is or how long the process takes? i'm in a bit of a visa situation so timing matters a lot. also is it actually worth doing or is it kind of a dead-end rotation program that doesn't convert well?

rotational programs at insurance cos can be hit or miss on conversion, but Allstate's TLP has a decent reputation from what I've seen on the talent side. most cohorts do convert. the timeline after HireVue is usually 2-3 more weeks before you hear anything. silence at this stage is normal, not a signal.

went through it two years ago, converted into a product data role after year two. the rotations are real, you actually move teams. whether that's good or annoying depends on your personality. for me it was good. the company is stable in a way that startup adjacent people undervalue.

oh this is super helpful, did they handle visa sponsorship for you or is that something you had to push on?

didn't need sponsorship personally so can't speak to that directly. i'd ask the recruiter point blank early. Allstate does sponsor H1Bs but it varies by role and headcount. don't wait until offer stage.
