On an H1B expiring in 8 months so timelines are tight. AIG says they sponsor on the job posting but honestly that's been wrong before at other companies.
does anyone have recent firsthand experience? specifically curious about whether they sponsor for tech roles (I'm a data/analytics engineer) vs finance-only. also their timeline has me nervous, 5+ weeks is hard when I'm racing a clock.
any info helps, even just 'yes they actually did it' would reduce my anxiety a lot right now.

I know someone who got sponsored at AIG for a data engineering role in 2024. it took a while on the legal side but they did go through with it. large regulated companies tend to have established immigration processes, which is actually better than startups who say yes and then fumble the paperwork.

that's really reassuring, thank you. the established process thing is a good point, I hadn't thought of it that way.

AIG has an immigration team and does sponsor. your best move is to ask the recruiter directly on the first call, not at the end of the loop. good recruiters at large companies know the answer and will tell you. if they hedge, escalate to HR. don't let it be a late-stage surprise.
