Is Adobe realistic for a new grad with no big tech internship? Feeling nervous

newgrad_neil · 4 replies

applying for Adobe's new grad SWE roles and honestly not sure if I'm wasting my time. my internship was at a smaller company, not a big name. all the posts i see are from people with 3-5 years of experience.

does Adobe actually hire new grads into meaningful roles or is it just the same junior roles that barely exist in practice? also how hard is the technical screen vs like a mid-tier company? i'm practicing LC but not sure what level to aim for.

Adobe does hire new grads, especially for Experience Cloud. the pipeline is smaller than you'd expect from a company that size, but it's real. your internship company name matters less than you think at the screening stage. get through the phone screen and you're competing on the same playing field as everyone else in the loop.

i got through to the technical screen at Adobe without a big-name background. the LC-medium prep is the right call. the thing that helped me most was practicing explaining my thinking out loud, not just solving silently.

that's actually reassuring, thank you. did you make it through to the onsite or get cut at the technical screen?

got cut at the onsite, system design round. but that's a me problem, not an Adobe-doesn't-hire-non-FAANG problem. i wasn't ready on that dimension. prep that specifically and you'll be fine.
