Adidas SWE L5 equivalent comp, Amsterdam hub, 2026

posting for the record since i couldn't find recent data when i was negotiating.

Role: Senior Software Engineer, digital platform team Location: Amsterdam (on-site hybrid) TC: ~EUR 105k base + 10% annual bonus target + 30% product discount + standard NL benefits (pension, healthcare contribution)

no equity, which is the big thing. adidas is not a startup and doesn't pretend to be. the bonus is performance-gated and i was told historically pays out around 7-8% if the business hits targets.

for context i had competing offer from a smaller digital agency in NL at EUR 95k base with more flexibility. the adidas name, the team size, and the benefits (seriously the discount adds up if you actually buy their stuff) tipped it.

if you're coming from US big tech: yes it's lower TC. the quality of life tradeoff is real though. on-call is not a way of life there the way it is at certain US companies.

the no-equity thing is such a different world. i keep forgetting that most non-tech companies just... don't do RSUs. do they at least have a stock purchase plan or is it really just cash + bonus?

they have an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP) but i didn't dig into the details before i took the offer. it's not the main comp driver for most folks there.

EUR 105k base in Amsterdam after tax is quite livable if you're not trying to buy property. the 30% discount is actually meaningful, that's like EUR 1-2k/year in real value depending on how much you buy. smart to factor it in.

do you know if they're hiring for iOS/Android on the platform team or mostly backend? trying to figure out if there's even a mobile track there.
