just got a recruiter reach out for digital tech role in Amsterdam, anyone know what to expect?

got a linkedin message from an adidas recruiter for a junior digital tech role based in Amsterdam. i'm in the US but they said it's open to international applicants and they handle relocation for the right person.

i've never interviewed for a consumer brand before, only startups. i honestly don't know if my background (backend, mostly fintech) translates or if they're going to grill me on supply chain stuff i don't know.

also, is the Amsterdam office culture very different from what i'd expect at a US tech company? the recruiter was nice but gave me almost no info about what the interview actually looks like. a little nervous about what i'm walking into.

amsterdam office is generally quite international, a lot of the tech roles there are english-first. the culture is more structured than a startup but less intense than big US tech. WFH flexibility has varied though, worth asking directly in the recruiter screen.

don't stress about supply chain domain knowledge going in. for backend roles they're hiring engineers, not supply chain experts. you'll learn the domain. what they actually care about is whether you can build reliable things and collaborate across teams. bring fintech reliability stories and you'll be fine.

ok that's reassuring. i was preparing to memorize like inventory management concepts which felt absurd. will focus on the engineering fundamentals.
