i had my final panel round for a rotational program role 9 days ago and have heard nothing. recruiter said 'we'll be in touch within a week' but here we are.
sent one follow-up 5 days after, got a 'we're still in deliberations' response which i guess is fine? but the silence since is killing me.
anyone else have experience with AbbVie's timeline being... optimistic on their end? did you end up getting an offer or is radio silence at day 9 a bad sign?
i know i should just wait but i am not good at waiting

9 days post-final with a 'still deliberating' message is not a red flag. Large pharma hiring committees move slowly. 2-3 weeks post-final for a formal decision is very normal, sometimes longer for rotational programs because those often have cohort-level decisions. Send one more follow-up at day 14, politely, and then sit on your hands.

AbbVie took 11 days to get back to me after my final round. It was a yes. The silence felt like a no but it wasn't. Just keep applying elsewhere in parallel so you're not staring at your inbox.

unfortunately 'we'll be in touch within a week' at a big pharma company means 'within a week, plus whatever internal calendar chaos we're dealing with.' been there. it's rarely about you at this stage.
